From The Church To The Throne.

After this I looked and there was a door that had been opened in heaven. The first voice that I had heard, which sounded like a trumpet, said to me, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.”

Common English Bible (Nashville, TN: Common English Bible, 2011), Re 4:1.

In Revelation 4, John shifts his narrative from what God discloses about the end times happening within the Churches to the emphasis on God's Throne and beyond. This is where the spotlight moves to the events surrounding God's throne, including the worship, splendor, and actions originating from heaven.

John's revelation of the divine throne room in heaven depicts worship led by four creatures and twenty-four elders. A voice, like a trumpet recalling God's voice at Sinai, invites John to witness heavenly secrets. The opened door suggests special access to God's hidden mysteries. The scene centers on God's throne, ringed by symbols of his promise, spirit, and purity. The creatures echo cherubic guardians from Ezekiel and Isaiah, while the elders represent God's unified people. This vision captures a vibrant eternal praise, affirming God as Creator and life-giver, with heavenly beings showing utmost adoration and declaring His worthiness of all honor.

I believe God intends to reveal secrets to us, providing insight into our era, His intentions for us, and support in our spiritual journey. Nonetheless, our deficiency in purity, intention, and time spent with God restricts our reception of the spiritual gifts of discernment and revelation. Our inability to take time in His presence, and honor His Word has hindered us oh so very much. We don’t take time to worship, pray, seek His face and honor His Word. Instead, we patronize Him, and are not honest and forthright in our pursuit of His will and purpose in our life. Doing so has hindered our walk in Christ, and kept unaware to us the hidden riches of God’s revelation He desires so much to share with us in this life.

We have missed out on so much because we fail to spend time in God's presence and honor His Word. We don't worship, pray, seek his face, and obey his will sincerely. Instead, we treat Him casually and dishonestly. This has damaged our relationship with Christ and prevented us from discovering the hidden treasures of God's revelation that He wants to share with us in this life.

In closing, let us not be content with a superficial understanding of God's Word or a lukewarm relationship with our Creator. Let us press into His presence, seeking His face with earnest hearts and open minds. Let us honor Him with our lives, living as reflections of His love, grace, and truth.

As we draw near to God, He will draw near to us. He will reveal His hidden treasures, pour out His blessings, and guide us into the fullness of His purpose for our lives. Let us rise up as a church, a people passionate for God, and together experience the transformative power of His presence.

May the door to heaven be opened wide for us, as we step into a deeper, more intimate walk with the God who loves us beyond measure.
